Chemical reactions: vibrations that stimulate the tissue to increase the reactions and local chemical processes.

What is Therapeutic Ultrasound?

Therapeutic ultrasound uses high-frequency sound waves (1-3 MHz) to penetrate deep into tissue. Unlike diagnostic ultrasound (which creates images), therapeutic ultrasound delivers energy that heats tissue and creates micro-vibrations at the cellular level.

This therapy has been used in physical therapy and rehabilitation for decades. When applied to injured or tight tissue, ultrasound:

  • Increases local blood flow
